The power of TMC works again! Recently, Arnie invited a small group of us to breakfast to network, share ideas and provide input on a variety of TMC topics. TMC member, Greg Leos, and I decided to get together as a follow up to further network and explore any synergies that may exist. After our meeting, Greg was kind enough to introduce me to the Marketing Specialist at his company. I went on to set up a meeting, and we are now engaged in business. Thanks to Greg, Arnie and Sheryl for playing key roles in this TMC success story!
I have been affiliated with The Men's Club for a little over a year and have attended several events, including the most recent gathering at The House of Blues in June. It was through TMC that I met Marc-Anthony Senat, who oversees corporate promotions at the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, IN. Marc-Anthony has proven to be a terrific resource, and we are now in the midst of planning an important client appreciation event at Horseshoe later this year. Among others, I have also met with Brent Peterson at Thresholds (www.thresholds.org) who has generously shared his expertise and introduced me to other members of the not-for-profit community. TMC members are givers, not takers, and I feel privileged to be part of such a great group of high-integrity men.
Time to chalk up another success story for TMC: This week I accepted an offer for a VP position at one of the world's largest PR agencies. My foot in the door there was none other than TMC Advisory Board member, Aaron Brost, to whom you so kindly introduced me. I'm very excited about the company and the position as I'll be working in the firm's renowned consumer PR practice and managing some iconic American brands. I can't thank you enough, Arnie. Not everyone goes out of their way to help others out in their time of need, and I won't forget that.
I've attended three TMC events this year and enjoyed all of them. The venues, the speakers, the energy, the tone and the guests have all been top notch. It's great to see familiar faces with similar enthusiasm to meet new people, and I'm meeting people that I look forward to seeing again. At the July gathering, four great things happened -- 1. I met someone who is looking for a job. Impressed with his resume, my firm is currently interviewing for hire; 2. a familiar face from my first event invited me to a concert he is performing; 3. I joined another member's blog; 4. I won 10 car washes! Far from a random networking event.
I'd been searching for a place where I could meet people from a variety of professions who were interested in helping one another build their business. Everyone I've met at The Men's Club events has been genuinely enthusiastic in that regard. These aren't events where you'll exchange cards with a half-dozen disinterested people you'll never meet again. To the contrary, everyone is engaging, down-to-earth, and eager to establish business relationships that are based on trust and integrity.
The Men's Club is a unique and great way to network among other professionals and business owners. Arnie Becker has done a great job of defining and focusing on the group's chemistry, values and goals. TMC is highly recommended not just as a means for networking and professional development, but as a means to learn the best ways to network and associate with other professionals and business owners.
The Men's Club has proven to have a positive impact on my business. Arnie is a true leader and dedicated to making The Men's Club a powerful business tool for all of its members. However, more important than that is the focus and commitment that we are a group of solid guys making a positive impact in our communities. I have already developed promising relationships through attending The Men's Club events, and I look forward to continuing that trend in the future.
